About mbar
Since August 2011 mbar 2011 Ltd is now part of the Ash Air Group of companies.
mbar Ltd was originally formed in 2001 in Silverdale, Auckland by Paul and Debbie Vickers, to service vacuum pumps and blowers. The move to Te Awamutu in 2002 was made to locate mbar to the geographic centre of the Dairy plants in the North Island.
In 2006 the business expanded into larger premises and started in house overhauling of vacuum pumps and blowers. The premises doubled again in size in 2007 as the range of dedicated overhaul equipment grew.
mbar 2011 Ltd now has the largest team of vacuum pump and blower experienced technicians, and the best equipped vacuum pump and blower overhaul workshop in New Zealand.

Paul has specialised in servicing and overhauling vacuum pumps and blowers since 1987. He trained in Australia for 9 months before returning to NZ to take up the challenge of managing the first workshop in NZ dedicated to servicing vacuum pumps and blowers. In 1995 he extended his training with time spent in Italy and USA with vacuum pump and blower manufacturing plants – FPZ, PVR and Robuschi. He is an Advanced Trade Automotive Engineer (heavy equipment), plus has A and B restricted electrical certificates. Paul also has the following current: Fonterra Induction, Canpac Induction, Esaki training, Permit Receiver, Hazard ID, mbar HTM2022 medical certificate, St Johns Workplace First Aid, mbar vacuum/low pressure air training, lean manufacturing, forklift F endorsement. It is important to Paul that the mbar staff feel safe, part of the team and mbar is a company they can be proud of.
Murray Munro
Murray joined the mbar Ltd team in February 2008. He has previous experience in overhauling dairy shed vacuum pumps and water pumps. Murray also owned his own general engineering business in South African prior to coming to NZ. Murray has Advanced Trade Cert 1 – Fitting & Turning, Fonterra Induction, Permit Receiver, Hazard ID, St Johns Workplace First Aid, forklift F endorsement, mbar vacuum/low pressure air training, Lean manufacturing.
Murray enjoys both machining and assembly. He has a methodical approach to ensure quality workmanship.
Etienne Engelbrecht
Etienne also joined the mbar team in February 2009. He has come to New Zealand with experience in vacuum pump and water pump repair. Etienne has Level 4 National Diploma Fitting & Turning, Bearing Tech, Fonterra Induction, Permit Receiver, Hazard ID, mbar vacuum/low pressure air training, Lean manufacturing, forklift F endorsement.
Etienne seems to be always smiling!
Peter Botha
Peter started at mbar Ltd in February 2009. He also has previous experience in overhauling dairy shed vacuum pumps and water pumps. Peter has City & Guild Engineering Certificate – Fitting & Turning, Electrical, Fonterra Induction, Permit Receiver, Hazard ID, St Johns Workplace First Aid, SKF Bearing, mbar vacuum/low pressure air training, Lean manufacturing, forklift F endorsement.
Peter is a dedicated team member.
Ian Drake
We were excited to welcome Ian back to the mbar team in April 2009. Ian has extensive experience in vacuum pump and blower repair and overhauling, having been involved in the industry since 1997.
Ian has a fantastic rapport with his customers.

Garrick has worked as a contractor for mbar since 2007 but started full time in May 2009. Garrick has excellent engineering skills and math skills – coming from Head of Department for maths in College! He has the following qualifications: Fitter & Turner Advanced trade, NZCE Mechanical, Secondary School Teaching Certificate, Advanced Teaching Certificate for Technology. Vlad joined us early 2010. He has a Degree in Mechanical Engineering and is a great asset to our team. Luke Daczo
Homeschooled teen who has been with us at mbar since 2008, learning on the job. Luke has Fonterra Induction, forklift F endorsement. Luke has started his Diploma in Mechanical engineering, machinging and maintenance.
Debbie Vickers
Debbie is co manager with Paul. She has over 20 years of business finance and administration experience and enjoys seeing the systems working well.
Judy Drake
Judy is the lovely lady behind the telephone that most of you deal with. Judy has been part of the mbar Ltd team since 2002 and is a valued administrator.
